Australia’s Subsea Engineering Associates Pty Ltd. (SEA) disclosed that it has bagged a detailed design, procurement and construction management contract for the Baltic Gas Project in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea for Baltic Gas Sp. z o.o. i wspolnicy sp. k (Baltic Gas).
SEA’s workscope includes over 68 miles (110 kilometers) of subsea pipelines, HDD (horizontal directional drilling) shore crossing, pre and post-lay trenching, risers and platform tie-ins, as well as system engineering including reservoir to gas plant flow assurance. The work will be carried out in SEA’s Perth office and follows the company’s successful completion of the front end engineering and design (FEED) studies.
The Baltic Gas project is undertaken by a partnership between CalEnergy Resources Poland Sp. z o.o. (CalEnergy) and LOTOS Petrobaltic S.A, with CalEnergy acting as operator during the development phase.
“Our focus this year is to lock-in the value generated during FEED by completing the design and going out to the market with tender packages for the main scopes. We expect significant interest from contractors and suppliers given the current state of the market. With tendered costs, the project should be in a strong position for Final Investment Decision during second half of 2016,” Adam Czajko, director at SEA, said in the press release.
SEA recently opened an office in Gdansk, Poland to support the Baltic Gas Project as well as other opportunities in the Baltic area within both the Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy sectors (wind farms).
