Africa focused oil and gas explorer, Bowleven plc, announced Friday that that a two well appraisal drilling campaign on Cameroon’s Etinde asset is due to commence at the end of May with the spud of the IM-6 well.

The company said the Topaz-Driller rig has already arrived in Cameroon waters and revealed that this asset has been contracted for 150 days.

Bowleven holds a 25 percent interest in the Etinde project, which lies in shallow water adjacent to the coast.

The company is also active in the onshore Bomono permit in Cameroon, holding a 100 percent stake. The Bomono permit is located to the north west of the city of Douala.
