KATOWICE, Poland, Jan 11 (Reuters) – Poland’s dominant gas firm PGNiG plans to spend half of 2017 profit on dividend, CEO Piotr Wozniak told Reuters on Thursday.

“In accordance with our strategy assumptions, I can confirm that we would like to spend on dividend 50 percent of our 2017 profit,” Wozniak told reporters.

PGNiG’s 2017-2022 strategy envisages spending up to 50 percent of its annual profit on its dividend.

PGNiG’s net profit for the first three quarters of 2017 rose to 2.47 billion zlotys ($710.61 million) from 1.63 billion a year earlier.
