Thailand’s Mermaid Maritime Public Company Ltd. announced Thursday that the firm’s Eastern Hemisphere business unit, through its subsidiary Seascape Surveys, has been awarded 2 subsea contracts, worth $5.1 million, in Southeast Asia.
The first contract covers a 30-day project in the Natuna Sea, Indonesia where the company’s DP2 (dynamic positioning 2) Dive Support Vessel (dive support vessel) ‘Mermaid Nusantara’ together with heavy duty work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) will carry out installation activities directly for an international upstream oil and gas firm commencing no later than the first quarter of 2017.
Seascape’s second assignment in Southeast Asia involves the provision of survey and inspection services to a third party diving vessel for approximately 45 days in Malaysian territorial waters, with work on the project already underway.
Elsewhere, Mermaid’s Western Hemisphere business unit has been awarded a 1 month work extension by a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in the Middle East for its DP2 DSV ‘Mermaid Endurer’, together with an additional standalone saturation diving support work equipment and services. The contract extension was valued at around $1.8 million.
