Total has revealed that a body has been recovered from the sea following reports of a missing person from the Maersk Highlander rig.
Total has revealed to Rigzone that a body has been recovered from the sea following reports of a missing person from the Maersk Highlander rig.
The company said it was assisting Police Scotland with their investigation into the incident. Total stated that the incident “was not caused by a workplace accident”.
“Our thoughts at this time are with the family and friends of the person involved,” Total told Rigzone.
Total is the current customer of the Maersk Highlander harsh environment jack up. Maersk Drilling’s website shows the rig is currently in the UK North Sea.
The Maersk Highlander rig has accommodation for 150 personnel, according to Maersk Drilling.
